HEROES OF THE CITY!!

I am a mom of both a 5 year old boy and a 18 month old girl and they both are owners of their own tablets. My son has an Ipad and my daughter has a Samsung Kids tablet. I am always looking for the best apps that will help them learn, be interactive and fun so that it keeps their interest. When my son used to watch cartoons on youtube, there was one that really stood out to me which is called "Heroes of the City".

Heroes of the City is a television cartoon show which is targeted towards kids 2 - 6 years old that teaches them the simplicity of being a hero in the little that you do. A fantastic show that all parents will be proud of having their kids watch!!!

To make it even better, they now have an app that has both the movies and games. The reason I  love this app so much is because my kids are able to relate and even try to figure out how someone would need help. We get to meet Pauli the Police Car and Fiona the Fire Engine who help people around the small town and who could forget Calamity Crow who constantly finds himself in problems where he would need help. Calamity Crow is always being warned but seems to either forget or just be plain absent minded. Besides just watching the movies/episodes, kids get to do puzzles, color and also gain trophies that can unlock their secret surprise.

My son can spend hours at a time watching and playing and I am not concerned because it is safe, fun and I know that he is learning lots from it. He has now been engaging his little sister and showing her the different characters and there are many. It teaches them both about friendship, sharing and helping each other which goes a long way when it comes to siblings.Highly recommend this application for all parents who are looking for something that is fun and educational.

"THE HAPPYS" - TRUE WINNER FOR MAKING KIDS SMILE

I was privileged to get the opportunity to have a first hand look at the newest sensation from Cepia, the makers of Zhu Zhu pets (via MomSelect) called "The Happys" which are an absolute joy for kids 4 years and older.

I received Mittens (Cat) with treat and Sport (Dog) with treat to have my kid engage with, along with the Chase Ball. Those toys are interactive & motorized and follow the lead of the kid who has the treat. They also can be trained which is great for the Zhu Zhu brand and makes the fun never ending. Each treat teaches the pet new tricks so the more treats you have, the more fun they will have. They provide hours of entertainment for your kids and lots of laughter also. They also play back with the kids unlike the other Zhu Zhu pets from Cepia so that is an upgrade. If you are not one to have/own pets then these are perfect for your family(kids), because they are like having real pets without having to feed them (well refreshing the batteries ever once in a while). I am definitely eager to see what other accessories they will be coming out with since my kids enjoyed them so much. By the way personally I loved Mittens because she is so adorable and fluffy and gives a great impression of the perfect cat (if there is any).

My son, who is turning 5 years old had an ecstatic time playing with both of the pets at the same time. He said to me," Mommy thank you, thank you, I love them." Although I have 2 real cats, he find "The Happys" to be more fun (he still and will always loves his real cats). Make sure you keep handy batteries because the pets or play ball does not come with batteries (uses AAA) but the treats do. They are currently in stores now from Walmart, Toys R Us and Amazon.

I found Walmart to be the cheapest so far, here are the links:

Mittens  - The Kitten {$17.97}
Chance - The Beagle {$17.97}
Sport - The Chocolate Lab {$17.97}
Bentley - The Golden Retriever {$17.97}
Chase Play Ball - {$9.97}

Go ahead and learn the Happy's dance and share your skills with others.

These will make great birthday presents and Christmas gifts. They are a true winner to making kids smile.
I gave them 5 out 5 stars.

{REVIEW} LEARNING SUCCESS COURSE

Disclosure: I got this product as part of an advertorial.

"YOUR CHILD DOES NOT HAVE TO LIVE WITH A LEARNING PROBLEM"

Introducing....

Not all kids are as able when it comes to learning.... Not all kids are geniuses or can even stand to sit to do some schoolwork. There are many kids out there that are currently struggling and being overwhelmed by schoolwork. Some kids also have been diagnosed with weaknesses such as:
  • Dyslexia
    Dyscalculia
    Dysgraphia
    ADD/ADHD
I have gotten the privilege to use the Learning Success Course over a couple of weeks now and it has been incredibly simple in helping our kids. The course is very interesting, fun and it is very effective. In my opinion it helps kids get interested in schoolwork and removes the anxiety that comes with it.You are sent an email everyday with an exercise that could last about 15-20 minutes. These exercises help with the anxiety and the frustration that hinder the ability to learn and  grasp concepts. Here is a look at one of the first exercises that I received:
This is a simple but important exercise. It does a couple of things.
1. Helps train left and right.
2. Involves the mind and body together.
3. Crosses the vertical midline to help with brain balancing
4. Simultaneously involves the right and left brain hemispheres. Colors are predominantly a right brain function while counting and remembering direction is left brain. By incorporating the two together we help the to train the brain hemispheres to work together.
Hang the arrow sheet on the wall. Student should be a comfortable distance away either sitting or standing. It is not necessary to do all of the phases in the beginning. Only do as many as the student is comfortable with. If the student begins to fatigue stop the exercise. The rest of the phases can be done the next time.
Phase 1
1. Start at the upper left and read across. With the right arm have the student point in the direction of each arrow.
2. Repeat with the left arm. When pointing extend the arm fully and when pointing across the body make sure the arm fully extends across the vertical midline of the body

This is here to help your child be happier when learning and make yours and their life easier and of course steady them on a road to academic success. It is so easy for me to just talk about how great it is when you can have a look for  yourself.

Visit them on the Learning Success Course website

The course is can be purchased in either their -

- 6 Month Program (Needs a Little More Help) $249.00
- 12 Month Program (Get Back Up to Grade Level) $398.00

Either one of these programs will be able to fulfill you and your kids need at the time. Plus there is a 90 day money back guarantee after your purchase. Also the price you pay for the Learning Success course includes unlimited email support and 3 free gifts.

If you notice your child needs help, take the necessary steps early to a full and fruitful academic life. I received one or more of the products mentioned above for free using Tomoson.com. Regardless, I only recommend products or services I use personally and believe will be good for my readers.

LIFE UPDATE

THIS IS A LIFE UPDATE!!

I know I havent been posting as often that I would like but there has been a few transitions in my life that I am trying to get used to slowly but surely. Anything that would help making life better for my family of course I am up for the challenge. Some may call bad or uncommon situations struggles but I call them challenges. Speaking it in a negative form will make it a lot harder to overcome. Now to begin I will only be bringing a positive look on what is to come in the coming months and beyond. (Any advice would be appreciated)
  • My pumpkin (son) is about to start Kindergarten in September and have been running around like a chicken with its head dangling off trying to make sure he gets into a really good school. The distance also is a factor and the fact that I do not live in a good neighborhood makes it a little more difficult. However I am really grateful that he got accepted in to so many charter schools so we have a number of options. Unfortunately they would all like to be notified of his acceptance by the end of this month which really isn't much time to get to know all the details of the schools.
  • My husband has a new shift and thats the night shift. We have been through it before but we didnt have 2 kids then. But it is all worth it and he definitely makes the time to spend with me and the kids. Never once will I ever have to question how my husband feels (we communicate --- thats key). For me it has been challenging with getting used to taking the kids most times on my own and the same for picking them up after. But as I said it is just time to get used to.
  • My pumpkin (son) is turning 5. YIPPIIEEEEE!! And it will be a celebration. We have been planning for years that when he gets 5 we will be taking him to DisneyWorld. Now this decision was made before we had a second kid. But with Gods grace we are able to take this trip. So his birthday planning is still in effect making sure we have all our bases covered.
  • My mama (daughter) is now 17 months and she acts like she is 3 years old. Thank goodness she only acts a little older but the terrible two tantrums have began and with full force. She is a handful but who am I kidding I think I was a handful too lol.
  • I have so many product reviews to put up that I am excited to share with you all. From kids apps to my favorite books to beauty must haves and ofcourse nail art.
Cannot wait to be back up and running again and share with all my followers.

Have a Blessed day and week

{REVIEW} YACON SYRUP --- BETTER ALTERNATIVE

Now as I may not have any sort of condition or disease (and would like to stay that way) I can be very mindful of what goes into my body (sortof). Ok lets face it I am "sometime-ish" about my health. I try to exercise and also try to make sure what I eat and what I give my family to eat is pretty healthy.

So my mom recently told me about an uncle who passed away from diabetes and she thinks that it could be in our family so watch I need to what I eat. I am glad however to say I have really never had a sweet tooth (thankfully no cavities either). But as my mom said, I need to be mindful and try to cut back where necessary. I was given the opportunity to test out Pure Yacon Syrup from Quality Encapsulations for free and having a little prior knowledge about the syrup I knew it was a sugar alternative but thats it.

Of course I would really have to taste for myself whether or not it is a true sugar alternative when it comes to taste. My first taste was in my tea, was a bit skeptical because my tea needs to have a certain taste for me to able to finish it. For a regular cup of tea I added 1 teaspoon of Yacon Syrup and there was no difference. It tasted just the same maybe even a tad bit better than if I added sugar. My second taste test was in my oatmeal which I eat everyday before work. So I ordered my oatmeal as normal (oatmeal with cinnamon - sugar & milk on the side). I added again a teaspoon of Yacon syrup and again there was no difference in the taste.

This was something I was really beginning to enjoy so I decided to share it with my co worker who is actually diabetic. She told me that she uses maple sugar to tend to her sugar cravings and I invited her to try the Yacon Syrup. This is also when I told her of the benefits which I learned about after consulting with my Dr.:

  • Aides in weight loss
  • Regulates blood sugar levels
  • Increase metabolism
  • Aides in detox cleansing of the digestive system
  • Used alone or used in cooking
  • Low Calories

Yacon Syrup is now a staple in my house. As much as I still have sugar in there and wont impose it on the rest of the guys, it is my go to choice for a lot of my dishes. It is actually great when making brown stew chicken, which is great because it keeps me full longer now. It is also free of milk, egg, shellfish, peanuts, wheat, soy and gluten - so that takes care of the persons with allergies (thumbs up).

You can purchase it here on Amazon and you can buy with confidence..

Is this a product for you?

'SHE' Got Sick -- My Steffi K

My Daughter

She got sick....

I know that this is with every kid so it isn't a surprise that kids get sick. I have a son who is about to turn 5 years old in May so I know a little something about dealing with a sick kid. The thing is, every child is different and you just never know what to expect. I always think I am able to manage and control the situation but I cannot which I also know. My daughter is now 16 months as of today and she has been sick for over a week now. She has a viral infection. From what? I have no clue.. How? I do not know.. When will it go away? I am hoping soon.. The way this virus is attacking her is not life threatening but it has caused her to be so miserable and sad and always tired. The doctors said that she is in pain but her immune system is fighting it just needs sometime.

I do not like a sick kid or my kid being sick and no matter how many times you go through it or how many kids you take care of each one is always so different. I tend to blame myself sometimes, just wondering what did I miss, what did I not do or what could have been done better.

Note to self ---- Do not beat yourself up about it. Kids get sick and when they are small they are unable to let you know exactly what is wrong but it gets better. You are able to read your kid and understand just by the gestures they make. You are mommy, you are their hero... you are their comfort no matter what.. Daddy is their strength and also their hero.. Always take the necessary steps to make them feel and get better. Not every time they are sick an emergency room run is necessary (I tend to forget).

This is the first time she was really down and out and not my little trooper as usual but she is getting better. Kids are our rock and they keep us grounded. Love them. Cherish them. Care for them.
